Line up to get on
the free bus to the peak tram lower
station. This bus is outside the
star ferry, next to the city hall. |
Ride the tram to
the top, actually the peak tram is a
funicular not actually a tram. |
The tram takes
you to the Peak Tower -- With a
range of shops, restaurants and of
course the paid viewing platform. |
...is another
shopping mall with all the facilities
you'll need. Called The Peak
Galleria this also has a viewing
platform, which is free. |
This historic
building can be seen as you leave, it's
the original tramways office. The
path to the right takes you to the
Circular Walk and one of the first views
is looking back at the Peak Tower. |

Another view of
this historic peak tramways building |
Equally historic
is the peak cafe, in a building which
was once the resting shed for sedan
chair bearers from the days before the
peak tram. |
Going to the Peak
Tower viewing platform to see... |
.. the view of
Victoria Harbour is of course what most
visitors want to do. |
But there are
also quiet shaded country paths which
you can visit. |
It's worth doing
some more exploring to walk up the hills
and find some of the good lookout
places; most of which tourists never
find so can be quiet deserted.
Allow several hours though and get a
good map! |
