Victoria Peak Gardens Are For Great Picnics in Hong Kong
Victoria Peak Gardens were renovated in 2010 and now make the perfect spot in Hong Kong to enjoy the outdoors, go hiking or have a lovely picnic with friends and family. You could even take your dog along to the peak gardens too because pets are, unusually for public spaces in Hong Kong, welcome too.
Victoria Peak Gardens is next to the former Mountain Lodge site, which is now a viewing platform with wonderful views to the west of Hong Kong Island. Within the peak gardens, you will find beautifully manicured lawns, wonderful flower beds, wooden picnic tables and Victorian-style pagodas that offer shelter from the sun on hot days. The peak gardens are, in fact, so picturesque that they are a common site used by wedding photographers to capture timeless wedding photos that can be treasured for years to come.
Another interesting monument near the peak gardens is Gate Lodge, which used to be the living quarters of the former Governor's summer house staff. Gate Lodge isn't accessible to the public now because it is used by the peak gardens staff as a storage facility but you can still explore the outside of the building.
