Mountain Lodge: Wonderful Views of Hong Kong Island
In addition to the main viewing area at Mountain Lodge which is where you would find the pavilion and car park at the top of Mount Austin Road, there are also a few other vantage points that offer more views over the west of Hong Kong Island.
The viewing platforms on the Mountain Lodge site are interconnected by paved pathways and so wandering around the site and getting photos or enjoying the views from different platforms can be very enjoyable and is quite simple.
Once you have finished enjoying the views from the Mountain Lodge site, you could take a wander around the peak gardens next door or in just 5 - 10 minutes you could walk to Victoria Peak where there many shops, restaurants and other things to enjoy. From the viewing platforms at the peak, you'll be able to take in amazing views over Victoria Harbour and the city which are equally dazzling both during the day and at night. Victoria Peak, Mountain Lodge, and Victoria Peak Gardens are a very popular pastime for both Hong Kong residents and tourists, attracting over seven million visitors a year.

About this image: A serene brick-paved walkway meanders along a lush, green hillside on Victoria Peak, flanked by manicured grass, dense shrubs, and tall palm trees under an overcast sky that evokes Hong Kong's humid subtropical atmosphere. Ornate street lamps line the path, leading toward a prominent white building with red roofing in the distance, likely a visitor pavilion or restaurant typical of the Peak's tourist infrastructure. This tranquil setting captures the Peak's appeal as a premier vantage point for nature walks and city skyline views, blending natural greenery with subtle urban elements.
