Getting to Victoria Peak Garden via Mount Austin Road
If you are wondering how to get to Victoria Peak, the popular viewpoint with fantastic views over all of Hong Kong including, on a clear day, Central, Kowloon and as far as Stanley to the south, then one way is to use Mount Austin Road.
Mount Austin Road winds from the Tram Terminus on Findlay Road past the Mount Austin Playground and through Victoria Peak Garden. The road gets narrower as you approach the viewpoint and has some very sharp blind bends too.
It is a great fitness and hiking trail despite running through one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive residential areas. Mount Austin Road get’s quite steep in places though so if you are not able-bodied then attempting to walk up to Victoria Peak from the Tram Terminus may not be your best option. If you’re an experienced hiker though then Mount Austin Road offers a beautiful, quiet and scenic way to get to Victoria Peak, which Hong Kong residents sometimes refer to simply as ‘the peak’, and attracts some seven million annual visitors with its panoramic views over the city
